Multifamily is a term for a property that contains more than one housing unit. It can be either residential or commercial and range in size from small apartment buildings to large condominium complexes.

Apartment buildings are the most common type of multifamily property. They typically have multiple floors and multiple units on each floor.
Condominium complexes: Condominium complexes are similar to apartment buildings, but each unit is owned by a separate individual or family.
Townhouses: Townhouses are similar to condominiums but attached to other townhouses on either side.
Duplexes: Duplexes are properties that contain two housing units. They are typically attached to each other and share a common wall.
Triplexes: Triplexes are properties that contain three housing units. They are typically attached to each other and share two common walls.
